SOME OF THE GREEN THUMBS

BEHIND OUR GREEN GOODNESS

Sienna

My name is Sienna, and I am a senior at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. Some of my hobbies include writing, birdwatching, playing rugby, and watching Transformers. I chose this apprenticeship so I could figure out what I want to do as a career. While here, I am really looking forward to getting closer with the other apprentices and furthering my knowledge about the environment and horticulture.

amanda

This is my first year working at Teens Grow Greens! I look forward to growing my own plants while working, and expanding my network with all the other apprenticeship programs. I want to learn more about plants while working here and connecting with customers and my co-workers. I am passionate about volleyball, writing, and my relationships with my friends and family. I hope this job helps me open up more with others and helps me find out what I really want to do in the future with jobs and majors. My favorite memory so far while working at Teen Grow Greens is learning more about everyone that works in the same apprenticeship as me and connecting with them while playing games.

CORY

Hello! I'm Cory, some of my hobbies include playing video games on my pc, doing sports like basketball, football and volleyball, going on walks and listening to music. I also like to do mainly any activity that's hands-on which was one of the driving factors in me deciding to be a Horticulture Apprentice. My short term goals are pretty simple, nothing too crazy, that's for the long term. I first want to obviously keep my streak going and pass my Junior year without failing and stay in the honor roll. Now my long term goals are graduating college with a degree in computer science and/or mathematics. Any degree is fine but I'm aiming for a masters. I know it's a stretch but I also want to eventually become staff with TGG like Julius, Ryan, Paula etc. That would be an amazing opportunity and honor for me to have and I will continue to work hard to achieve it as I do for every goal!

EMILiANO

My name is Emiliano! I graduate in 2027 and I plan to go to college. Some things that I love doing are exploring, painting, sewing and up-cycling, gardening and caring for my houseplants! I always look forward to learn new things and have new and fun experiences. I am also a Mexican American who’s bilingual and someone who is passionate about the Earth, art and culture.

ALEX

My name is Alex, and I am a student at St Augustine Preparatory Academy. I am looking forward to spending time planting and knowing more about the plants and making sure I can properly plant them and keep them healthy. Also I am excited to sell our plants to people's homes. Also spending time with my team and creating new projects to help plants.

eh mer

My name is Eh Mer and I am a senior at Ronald Reagan High school. What I look forward to the most this year is working with the Horticulture Apprentices and staff to learn more about plants and working at the Webers Greenhouse. I am passionate about becoming a Mechanical Engineer and helping improve my community and help inspire others to make their own impact on the world.

Breasia

My name is Breasia and I am a horticulture apprentice. I plan to be a veterinarian when I'm out of college. Animals and baking are my biggest interests and have been for a really long time. If being a veterinarian doesn't work out, I'm always down to be a baker! My favorite flower is Dahlias, while my favorite plant to grow is definitely peppers. I currently go to the only agricultural school in Milwaukee, which is helping me achieve my life goal of obtaining my dream career. My goals for this year however, are to save up for a laptop that I can play games on, and to save up for my end of the year school outfits along with cute summer and fall outfits. My favorite hobbies are reading, drawing, and napping. I hope to enjoy the coming years of Webers, even when I am no longer here!

nate

I will be a freshman at MIAD this fall and this will be my third year at Teens Grow Greens. I love Japanese manga and anime and want to go to college in Japan to study animation. Later in life, I want to work in Japan as an animator and create my own manga. I feel that this art form portrays things so perfectly: their stories always excite me, confuse me, amuse me, and further my thinking. In my personal life, I take a stand for knowledge; I am always looking for ways to further my knowledge and the versatility with which I do things. Manga and anime have helped me do this, as well as strengthen my knowledge and perspective of how I see things.
